I studied painting on a 2 year course at The Art Academy in London and exhibited in their 2012 Graduate Exhibition.

With the guidance of my tutors, Robin-Lee Hall, PRP, and Andrew James, RP,  both established portrait artists, I opened up my approach to portraiture to become more experimental and in particular to explore composition.

Over time I have developed a focus on portraying the human form and I mainly work in oils and pastels. Most recently I have explored the use of mono-prints, solar prints, mixed media and collage for landscapes and figures.

My aim is to make my portraits and life studies more interesting by varying the poses and backgrounds to create a mood and to reflect the essence of the person portrayed. I work on several sittings for portraits although these can be supplemented by photographs.

As a member of several local Artists Groups I have had the opportunity to paint a variety of models and to experiment with other media, particularly pastels.

My current work is focused around developing my painting to include figures in landscapes, dance and musicians.

Portrait commissions are welcomed.
